S+W Insights: Whitepaper
Web 2.What? Use of Web 2.0 among Danish companies in corporate communication, 2009
"Danish companies have not broadly adopted Web 2.0 tools as a part of their overall communications and marketing efforts. Danish companies do not use their existing corporate websites as a portal to other communication activities in social media."
That is the conclusion of a new whitepaper based on a study of nearly 120 Danish companies use of Web 2.0 tools and published by Stoevring+Woodward Communication of Denmark.
Although there is broad interest in Web 2.0's potential among communications professionals and professional PR and communications bureaus in the country, adoption is slow. As of 2009, the conclusion is that Web 2.0 ns social media are primarily the stuff of social communication.
The whitepaper, "Web 2.What" answers questions like:
- What are the most widely used Web 2.0 tools in external communication?
- Blogs: dead or alive?
- How many of the NASDAQ OMXC20 companies have a Facebook page?
- What are the least used tools?
- What is the difference between the use of these tools in large and medium sized workplaces?
A big part of the study deals with benchmarking Danish vs. American companies and answers questions like:
- Which tools do xome of the largest American companies use and how?
- Blogs: definitely alive!
- Twitter on the rise?
- How are homepages being integrated with social media to ensure makimum stakeholder engagement?
